AVIYA helps Disease Foundations to fulfill their full potential and promise to patients, by providing (foundations) with expert guidance and program development in important therapeutic areas. AVIYA helps foundations and non-profit organizations to become more effective at actively managing relationships and programs.

Disease Foundations are key stakeholders in disease management and advocacy for research and patients. Foundations also work to guide government policies that directly impact the lives of those suffering from disease.

Today, with the ongoing advances in research, and increased drug development activity, the role of Disease Foundations is expanding to include the role of scientific advisor and active development partner, and increasingly, co-promotion partner. In some cases, innovative non-profit organizations are funding drug development through Venture Philanthropy. More importantly, foundations are often the sole advocates for small diseases that are ignored by for-profit entities and government.

Foundations are well positioned for these roles. However, to be effective, Disease Foundations must have the proper tools to influence decision makers. They must speak the language of industry and sciences and they must develop a set of core skills and effective tools to manage an increasingly diverse set of partnerships at all phases; from drug discovery to commercialization.
